Be honest
It’s easy to get carried away and embellish your career history and skills on your CV. Remember employers can find out if you are being dishonest.
Focus your CV
You may have a generic CV. Remember to spend time tweaking the CV so that it meets the needs set out in the job description.
Grammar and spelling
Remember to check your CV for spelling and grammar errors.
Hobbies
Employers can view the hobbies and interests you list on your CV as an insight into your personality.
Online reputation
Remember today’s employer may try and find additional information about you on websites such as Facebook. Don’t forget to remove any embarrassing photos!
References
It’s important to include relevant referee(s) on your CV. Don’t forget to ask the referees if it’s ok to use their name. In most instances try to use a professional referee.
What length should my CV be?
Ideally CVs should not be more than two sides of A4.
White space
Don’t cram too much information on your CV you want to try and made it as user friendly and readable as possible. Remember the CV is used to get you to the interview stage.
